Bad stereotypes have a bad psychological effect on mixed children, especially part filipinos?

From experience and acquaintance of others who are part caucasian and filipino, I have realised that I am not the only only one tormented by the stereotypes that filipinos put themselves into, i.e. housemaids, mail order brides, young girls with dirty old men, inability to communicate effectively or integrate in society. I never expose myself as being part of this race (luckily I have taken the caucasian side and no one ever questions me about my heritage) due to the degrading stereotypes that I do not want to even associate with, although i love my parents dearly. When will these people stop doign these degrading things? This is the general opinion in the UK and I have heard that it is different in the USA?

There are plenty of stereotypes in the USA. But I’m concerned. You are part filipino and part caucasian and yet you never “expose yourself as being part” of your filipino ethnicity? Isn’t that degrading by definition? You’re making yourself less of what you are. Forget about what other people think. Be proud of your heritage!
If you have children, they will also be mixed. Teach them to love themselves for who they are and people’s ignorance will never affect them!
