Any reactions to what Alec Baldwin said about Filipinos?

I read about this on the newspaper and according to the wikipedia article, which by the way is also the same to what I read, that “Baldwin made a joke about getting a “Filipino mail-order bride…or a Russian one” in order to have more children[.] [He] was targeted by members of the Filipino community who were offended, including Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla, Jr. of the Philippines. Baldwin later apologized for the remark via his Huffington Post blog”. Any comments?
My Opinion:
I believe Alec was just saying the truth. Life is hard in the Philippines, and most of the people there will do whatever it takes to make an income, even if it hurts them or abuses their bodies.

Mail order brides come from MANY countries, not just Russia and Philippines. I don’t find what he said offensive… it’s just the truth. I don’t understand why people get offended by the slightest thing.
